That was quite the accidental but humorous spelling error. I wish I could say I did that on purpose.
DID: because they tried IVF first <shudders> Is he pro choice, too? Because there is really no way to reconcile a pro-life position with IVF. |

Wait I stand corrected, they didn't try IVF they did fertility drugs, which is still not natrual.

Well that's a horse of a completely different color. Treating infections with antibiotics or using sun block isn't "natural" but that
doesn't make it wrong.

If he's saying I'm not meant to be a parent because I don't want to get married I can argue he's not meant to be a parent because he can't
concieve. That's my point.

It doesn't sound like he was trying to tell you that you weren't meant to be a parent, based on what you've said
here.
You might raise and win on three of a kind, but that doesn't mean it's better than a full house.
Some people seem to have their retirement in their 20s and 30s, and then get it together later and build a career. But most of us
can acknowledge that it would be chaos if we all tried to do it that way. There is something to be said for order and seasons of life. Some people can finish
high school after they've dropped two kids, but that doesn't mean it's preferable or that it should even be considered an equal, in general.
Plenty of single parents do a great job, but I'm speaking of broad social analysis, not individual situations. Stuff happens, but plenty of single
parents that get there by circumstance rather than design acknowledge that it's absolutely not preferable to married, involved two parent families. You
don't even need the Bible to see that. One need only look at the ghettos.

I realize all that but I am 30years old and we are a two parent family. But don't want to get married right now. I just didn't think his opinions on my
situation made sense considering his own dilemma and Gods plan for him.

with the center i dealt with there was also an age limit since older eggs can have more issues than younger ones. you will most likely have to go on a
fertility drug that causes mass production of eggs that they will extract. the whole process can take a few months to 6 or even 8 months.

That's fair, but I'm not sure his point had anything to do with the parallel you're trying to draw.
Some would say that any children that they (or anyone else) managed to adopt came to them in the same providential manner as your child came to you. Nothing in his comment questioned the providence of your child.
I know a couple who have been together over 20 years, have three kids, and are not married. Many of their acquaintances don't
even know they aren't married. They're fully committed to each other, and it has stood the test of time. I would certainly not claim that they
aren't married in the eyes of God simply because they have no official stamp from the state governor. That assumption would be awfully legalistic. The
reverse is also true. You can have a big church wedding and never invite God into the marriage. However, some couples don't go through with legally tying
the knot simply because the commitment isn't there.
Your pastor probably meant well with his comments, and didn't mean to hurt your feelings about it.
