I have to admit, it was pretty slick how Franken stole this election right out in public. Indeed, though (as many would contend) maybe not quite as slick as the way Dubya stole the 2000 election in private. 
Don't fret because you have to accept the fact that it's just Franken's time.

On the contrary, Zen. In the 2000 election Gore's side was employing some of the very same tactics that Franken used to successfully steal his election.
It's just that the grownups at the Supreme Court stopped them. If the SCOTUS had't stepped in and told them to do the recount right or not at all Gore
would have also been successful. The 2000 election wasn't stolen, it was prevented from being stolen.

Well Florida 2000 and Minnesota 2008 are not quite the same thing.
Florida 2000 had no standards for absentee ballots to be judged by and it was wide open......and it was Bush who stole that election. Minnesota on the other hand does have standards for accepting and rejecting ballots and they adhered to those standards when doing the vote tallies. The issue is the looser, in this case the Repubs are not happy with the result, and if there was no standard for vote acceptance or rejection, then yeah it would be wide open again. I'm not happy with Franken being a Senator at all, he's going to be a robot for the Dems and he's going to be a laughing stock, but he got himself elected. To quote the paper:

It was Al Gore who held the country hostage for week after week while he tried every devious trick he could think of to steal the election. Bush didn't "steal" anything. Al Gore merely FAILED to steal the election. |

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and some sixty to eighty thousand votes couldn't be counted (depending on who's numbers you use) because no one
checked to be sure the punch cards were actually being punched, misleading rules for voting and your brother as Governor. Hell, I'd have bitched too, and
you would have too if Gore was the one on top and if you're honest about it, and don't say you wouldn't have because I know you too well.
However, Minnesota didn't have that issue they had established policy and criteria for votes to be judged, accepted and/or rejected, and have had them from the beginning. Would that all states would get their heads out and do the same thing. Voting should be as simple and cut and dried as making a deposit at the bank that way close elections don't carry a stigma with them. |

about punch cards and voter confusion have been debunked? No, you probably don't because your favorite MSN channel probably didn't report on it.

Punch cards didn't punch? Nope that's a documented fact and verified by the press themselves, however one has to ask were they really not punched or were they replaced. Now that is pure speculation on my part but I didn't mention it before and haven't mentioned it here at all. Misleading rules? Nope, mistakes on the ballot instructions were also verified and corrected for 2004. Again, a documented fact. Bush's Brother was Governor of Florida? Yep, Jeb was Governor at the time and if we're lucky will never hold another office so long as he lives. At least Minnesota had the foresight to nail it all down before hand and not after they certified a questionable election that gave eight years of Bush. |

1. Did a handful of people in Florida "dimple" their punch cards instead of punching them all the way through? Sure. So what? People screw things up all over the country. 2. There were no "mistakes on the ballot instructions." None. Nada. Zip. That's a lie. 3. The governor of Florida had absolutely nothing to do with the election. He had no input at all. Trying to tie the governor into the election is the stuff of conspiracy nutbags. 4. There was nothing whatsoever "questionable" about the Florida election.....except for the lies about it that the Gore campaign devised and the gullible believed. I've suggested that you read the definitive book on the 2000 election on Florida, At Any Cost, but because you hate Bush you'd rather just hold on to your brainwashing. |

Yes, they did. Gore claimed that blacks were being harassed by the Florida State Police and stopped on their way to the voting locations. A thorough
investigation of the claim found that the allegation was false and stemmed from a black motorist who responded to Gore's televised call for anyone who had
a problem with the election to call his headquarters. The motorist had been stopped for speeding on the freeway on his way to the polls and given a ticket.

Yeah, that was my oldest daughter who was doing community service with her basketball team at polling places Louisa county.......that's
where the instructions were causing problems. I have it from someone who actually there, not what your spin doctors told you to say. And the chaff was not
dimpling anything, many cards came in with nothing on them. I have from an eyewitness who was there and you have it from the guys who just want you to trust
them. Yeah, right.
Given the choice of believing the media or the Bush's, I'll take the media any day and be glad to do it. |

shame that you still believe the lies, but your previous demonstrations of brainwashing mean I'm not really surprised.
1. No blacks were intimidated on the way to the polls. 2. The ballots were not confusing 3. Gore sued to prevent military ballots from being counted 4. Gore sued to force recounts of ONLY the counties he thought would add votes for him. 5. The State of Florida (which had Bush's brother as governor) ignored its own laws to allow Gore to run wild 6. Gore made Florida a laughing stock with photos of people peering at "hanging chads", "dangling chads" and "dimpled chads." 7. Gore's desperate attempt to steal the election would probably still be going on if the U.S. Supreme Court had not finally ordered the State of Florida to obey its own law. |
